New furniture and resources haven’t been trickling in; rather--a deluge of boxes has overtaken our garage. A big buddy helped carry a few choice boxes over to school this morning. As our buddies arrived, the excitement was palpable. What could they contain? I have been sharing the design and rebuild process with our Bella buddies all along, so they have a fairly good idea of what I have been purchasing. Three small groups tackled the challenge of opening their respective box. The little buddies unpacked our new addition to the block area. They are beautiful hollow blocks. The tape holder for our new art area was successfully unpacked, and subsequently broken when it fled the scene and slid off the table. Usually I have students send torn and worn books to our “book hospital” to be TAPED. Now we need to send our TAPE holder to jail to be “booked”! Our rocking boat seesaw that flips over to become stairs was assembled with the help of the entire class. It will make a nice prop for our new stage area! The older buddies discovered that they could fit into the rocking boat--and WOW can they make that baby fly! At the end of the day, Miss Mandy facilitated painting pictures for the children in Haiti that experienced flooding in October during Hurricane Matthew. I love the beautiful hearts of our Bella buddies!
